’No pains,no gains’

June 9th, 2009 Posted 1:02 am

The old saying’No pains,no gains’tells us a simple truth:one will not achieve anything if he he does not work hard.

For instance, when learning English,we have to acquire a large vocabulary.although you can find all kinds of vocabulary books in the bookstore,or you may use different methods of memorizing,in the end you have to learn each word by heart one after another.it is simply not possible for any talented learner to master 5000 new words a day.many students feel painful in memorizing English word, but all they need to know is just’No pain,no gains’.

In the fields of scientific study, the so-called geniuses generally need to work even harder than the commoners.einstein’s success formula said that success was composed of 99% of hard work and only 1% of gift.behind any accomplishment, there is a great amount of efforts.

Yang Ling is my fellow classmates and friend.recently she had a terrible condition and has been hospitalized for over a month.she was depressed, sad and downhearted.she told us so many things are working against her,and she didn’t know how to change.

The day before she was released from hospital,we,some of her friends decided to give a surprise to cheer her up the next day.that night, she came back, shoulders bent and head fallen.she was so deep in her bad mood that she didn’t realize that her dorm is the only one in the building that is dark.she turned the key in the lock and opened the door when the room was suddenly lit like a bright day.her eyes sparkled with delight and surprise.she saw all her classmates crowded in this tiny room.everyone was holding something in hand, flowers, fruits, cards, cheering,’welcome back!’she was so moved that she burst into tears.and smile returned to her pretty face.she said’thank you all.’heartedly.

Ever since that day, happiness and delight have stayed with her.life is so wonderful.

With the popularization of computer and information technology, distance education, though a new comer, has developed at a rather surprising speed in Chana and proved to be an effective way of learning.

Thanks to distance learning, many people in the poor areas could enjoy equal opportunities as their counterparts in the richer areas ,more academic information can be communicated freely between different universities.what is more, students in China are able to have access to schools and students abroad.

In spite of its enormous achievements, compared to that in rich countries, distance learning in China is still far fron perfect and thus should be improved in the following tow main aspects.first of all,the required facilities like computers are still lacking in some areas and should be installed.second of all, more knowledge and courses should be available through distance education so as to meet variety of learners’needs.

Tv has been one medium of communication that has connected millions.and it is this link makes talent hunt shows on the tube amazingly.young faces conveying disappointment or even overwhelming job have become a common sight on as many channels as your remote allows you to surf.

Some people have their opinions on the TV shows.the advantages of the shows are clear to some people.for one thing,in terms of businrss, the increasing popularity of talent shows has helped the channels in generating huge income by way of advertising and promotions.for another thing, the TV shows can make the common people have opportunity to show themselves.

Personally,I side with the former opinion.it is a wonderful feeling and a great way to relax for me to watch talent shows and see ordinary people like myself become famous and win cash prizes.as long as talent shows are entertaining and inspiring us,there is great sense in keeping and encouraging them.

My view on Job-Hopping

June 8th, 2009 Posted 11:12 pm

Some people tend to stick to their positions all tile time,as they think the longer one works in a particular field, the more skillful one will be at it.some have been teachers all their lives. Some devote their life energy to scientific research.such people love their woke and turn out to be specialists in their own field.they are usually high achievers.

Some are different.they are in the habit of job-hopping,for they always pursue what is new and stimulating.they never seem content with their present situation.some like to meei more people, make more momey and new acquaintances;so they hop form job to job.

As far as I am concerned,I want to be professionally strong.I am not in favor of frequent job hopping,as the saying goes’jack of all trades, master of nostes’.but I want to have opportunities for advancement and as many colleagues as possible to cooperate and communicate with so as to be more creative and less partial.

My boss had asked me to print the price list for several days, but i did not like to do.Because the total pages of the price list is 358.In order to take easily,i have to print on the both sides of the page. But my printer has not this kind of function. So i have to print one by one. That means i have to send ‘print ‘ command for 358 times.I thought it will take at least a day to accomplish this task. This work is so troublesome that i choose to do the other work .

When my boss told me again yesterday,i started to prinit. But when i begun to do,i found it was not as difficulit as i had thought.I finished 100 pages just in an hour.I completed this task which i had not completed in a week, just in half a day.

I drew a lesson from this affair. Many things seem to take long time and efforts to complete before you start to do.But the feeling is different after working.you will find suprisingly that it is not as hard as what you thought before.

How to make Chinese dumplings?

June 6th, 2009 Posted 9:56 am

To make Chinese dumplings, first of all, chop the meat into pieces and mash them, then add salt, sesame oil, soy sauce, ginger, scallions, Chinese cabbage and MSG if you like. Mix thoroughly the ingredients; add two spoonful of water if necessary.

In a big bowl, add water to flour gradually. Mix and knead by hand to form soft dough, then cover it with towel and put it aside for about an hour. Then scatter some dry flour on the board, knead and roll it into a sausage—like dough about 5 centimeters in diameter, then chop it into small pieces. Press each piece with your hand and get a pancake. Finally, to hold the pancake with your palm and put the filling in the center and wrap into half-moon shaped and seal the edges.

The next step is easy. Put the dumpling into boiling water, when it is well cooked, it is ready to be served. Before eating, you need to prepare some small dishes to contain the mixture of soy sauce, vinegar, and sesame oil or pepper oil [to your own taste.

i think that can help you!!
